Built for rehearsal studios first

This is the room the product was drawn around. Every decision in it — the turnover buffer, the weekly series, the backline hire, the deposit per room — came from what a rehearsal studio actually does on a Friday night.

What a rehearsal room is, as far as the software is concerned

A room with an hourly rate, a minimum booking length, a buffer either side, opening hours belonging to its building, and optionally a different rate depending on what the room is being used for. Gear that can be hired with it. A payment policy of its own. A booking policy that is either instant or needs your say-so.

None of that is configuration you assemble out of generic parts. It is the shape of the thing, which is why a rehearsal studio can be set up here in an afternoon rather than modelled over a fortnight.

The parts that actually make the money

Weekly bands are first-class: a standing slot that holds itself in the calendar ahead of time, edits forward-only so history stays put, and freezes each session's price so a rate rise does not reach backwards.

Backline is stocked and hired against the booking, counting down as it goes out and back when it returns. Deposits and a cancellation ladder are set per room and applied without a conversation. A waitlist turns a full Saturday into a queue instead of a refusal.

Monthly lockouts are a room mode rather than a separate product, so a room that is let monthly most of the time and hourly the rest is normal here.

And the front of house

The storefront is a real site on your own domain with your studio's name on it, and the checkout is on the same origin as the site, which is what makes Apple Pay and Google Pay work. If you already have a site you like, its Book now button links straight to the same checkout.

Connect Stripe or Square for card payments. Cash and external terminal takings can be recorded against the booking and sit in the same reports.

What this does not cover

Soundslot manages bookings and studio payments. It does not replace a retail inventory and checkout system for selling merchandise over the counter.

Studios that also record can enable private recording project workspaces and file sharing after configuring storage. Audio recording and editing still happen in your DAW.

There is no per-engineer pricing. A session with a senior engineer costs what a session with an assistant costs unless you have made them different rooms or different activities.

Your studio. Your next chapter.

Rehearsal studios are the beachhead, not a vertical we adapted to. Plans start at Basic and are priced by how many rooms you run.
